Hi experts,
In my current project we are settling production order variances to variance account type "P-Primary Costs or revenue" and element catergory "1-Primary costs/cost-reducing revenues", however, system always prompts for default account assignment which is not right.
What should be the correct GL account type and cost element category hence in S/4HANA the cost element is mandatory?
We are using costing based CO-PA, and the materials area valuated at standard price.
Regards,
João
Hi Joao,
You can create production variance GL account under GL account type: Non-operating expense so that your problem can be resolved.
Thank You Very Much !

Hi Ratnakar,
That's my point. In Cost based COPA in S/4HANA cost element is automatically created because FI and CO are highly connect with each other. But in old SAP ERP we simply do not create cost element in KA01 for variance account, therefore no objects are asked in OKB9.
How should we proceed in S4HANA for the system don't ask for default account assignment?

Hi João,
Price variance account type should be Primary cost or Revenues and cost element category should be "1" If cost element is created.
For account based COPA, cost element creation is required and for cost based COPA it is an optional.
Thanks,
Rau
