Determine OBN Targets for POWL

Dear NWBC Experts,

I'm trying to get my head around the OBN concepts of POWLs. When i don't have an example role using a certain POWL, how do i determine the required OBN-targets and the parameters for that POWL?

And how is transaction SWO1 involved in the OBN-concept for POWLs?

Regards.

Niels

Hi Niels,

when an OBN target is missing, you will get an error message for this.

Report NWBC_LIST_OBN_TARGETS gives you an overview of all roles where a transaction is attached to this OBN target.

For the parameters, go to the right bottom of the PFCG screen, OBN window. In the details of the methods, a search help shows the available parameter values you can transfer. The input fields for the transaction are the same as used for batch input.

I think i forgot to thank you Dirk. Thanks!

It states: "The use of BOR objects is optional; it is just a convenient repository of predefined interfaces that also includes parameter mapping."

Hi,

The OBN target is defined in the feeder class of a POWL, look in transaction POWL_TYPE.

It is hardcoded into the method handle_actions in the feeder class

This fires a portal event into the business object (SW01)

This business object is defined in a role entry in PFCG.

You can change the navigation target in the role, for example point the display sales order to VA03 instead of the web dynpro application by deleting the entry in the web dynpro application and maintain the OBN for VA03.
