Hi Balaji,

Check the "TYPE" field in the ROOSOURCE table. The TYPE field has values "ATTR" or "TEXT" or "TRAN" for attributes, texts and transaction data respectively.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Dinesh

Thanks for your message,I checked what you said,I understood that, but I want to know that, how can v decide that particular datasource should load first to ODS Object and then to Infocube.

I came to know that by seeing ROOSOURCE table v can decide? But I could'nt able to do so.

Can you please let me know about this.

Hi Balaji,

Use the "search" with the datasource name in http://help.sap.com .

Hope this helps.

Hi Balaji,

Using ROOSOURCE table you can just identify whether the data is attr/text/transaction data. It would not give any info whether the transaction data would get loaded into a cube/ODS. That would basically be determined by your business needs. If you need detailed data to be loaded then you use an ODS and in case of summarised data it is cube. In case you know the datasource let me know the technical name I can search the help and let you know where it gets loaded.

Hi Balaji,

Are you aware of the master data datasources. If so, check whether the datasource is view/fn module based in RSO2. You can also the table ROOSOURCE in R/3 for that.

Also refer to this link for more info:

Hi

Dinesh

Ya,got ur point.

In ROOSOURCE table how to decide that particular datasource should load to DATA TARGET or MASTER DATA.

Like which datasource should load to cube ,ods , master data and so on.And which should load first either ods then cube or MASTER DATA then ODS then cube?

Pl tell me clearly in this regard.

Thanks A LOT IN HELPING ME OUT

Hi Balaji,

Statistical update is only for transaction data and not for master data. What is the master data you want to use.

Hi

Dinesh

I got your point, but Iam wondering how the Master data is loading.

Is there any other advantage by loading Master data first and then Transaction data other than performance.

Iam using this Sales Document Header datasource(2LIS_11_VAITM) and 2LIS_11_VASCL.This two datasource are loading to data targets. Now I got a doubt from where this Master Data is been loading? and how to load this data.

And we should use Infopacakge for scheduling. But how the extractor picks data from base tables.CAn u tell what actually happens in this regard. How the data will be loading from R/3 to BW.

Pl let me Know.

Hi,

What do you mean of Master data of sales order?

Anu way, there is no need to make Stastical Setup for Master data Loading .Extractor takes the data directly from base tables.

Hi

Anil

Actually first we should load data to Master data table and then to Transaction load data.By this reporting performance will be good.Right? Is there any other advantage by loading this way other than performance.

Iam using this Sales Document Header datasource(2LIS_11_VAITM) and 2LIS_11_VASCL.This two datasource are loading to data targets. Now I got a doubt from where this Master Data is been loading? and how to load this data.

Actually in R/3 where this Master data is stored.(As you said is it in Base tables)and where can i see for Master data Base tables and Transaction data tables in R/3

Is it DD02L and DD03L?T-codes

Pl let me Know.

Hi,

Actually first we should load data to Master data table and then to Transaction load data.By this reporting performance will be good.Right?

Actually this will decrease the time of transaction data loading .So it improves the loading performance , not reporting performance.

Now I got a doubt from where this Master Data is been loading? and how to load this data.

2LIS_11_VAITM and 2LIS_11_VASCL are the DS for Transaction data , not for master data.To load the master data, first of all find out the master bearing characterstics in the data target. And then search for teh DS of master data in R/3 with tcode RSA6 .You will use characterstic(info object) as the search option here.

For example 0materail is the Master characterstic.

And you can see the DS for this Characterstic in RSA6(if it is not there, you have activate it from RSA5)
