retrieving value of a customized property of the portal

i have an application, in which i need to retrieve the value of a user property that is customized , namely, organization code.

The piece of code i wrote is :

IUser user = userfactory.getUser(uniqueid);

String orgCode=""+user.getAttribute("","OrgCode")[0];

where, uniqueid carries the portal user's unique id.

This property value has to be retirved for all the registered portal users. Hence, the above code is in while loop.

but when i run the application, the data is not retrieved.

can anybody please help ?

Thanks & regards,

    Hi Anupreet,

    there is much information missing:

    > the data is not retrieved

    So what's your problem in detail: Are you retrieving the correct user object? Check for example if you can get other attributes successfully.

    Or is any exception thrown?

    If you're sure that "user" is the right userObject and the getAttribute just doesn't return the value that you expect, just double check the namespace and the name used for this attribute - is it really the attribute defined for the UME as addtional attribute?

    If also this questions definitely is to be answered with "Yes", the only reason should be that in fact there is no such attribute saved for the users?!

    Some additional remark: the fragment <i>""</i> is superflous, for the array returned is of type string array, so one element is of type string. Anyhow, <i>""</i> is bad style, even if "useful".

    Hope it helps
