I did a system copy of BW java along with the BW ABAP part using backup/restore on SQL server 2008 with NW 730 EHP1. As part of post installation I used template installer to run the task automatically as per the standard guides however the installer created the system object incorrectly. It created MANDCLNT100 instead of actual SIDCLNT100. I had to manually create another system object to fix this. I am wondering if the template installer checks anything before it determines the system object name. At this point i would like to point out that i deleted the existing system objects that made it with the source system along with corresponding RFC destinations, Certificates etc.. Am i missing something here ?, Any thoughts ?

Hi Kalyan,
You need to perform post system copy activities. Please refer to this list and customize it according to the requirement:
1.Execute BDLS in case this is NOT a fresh installation
2.SICK Should not report Error
3.Apply SAP license
4.Get migration Key for secstore migration
5.Check if clean shutdown and startup happens by Starting and Stopping of the system.
6.Check if Importing of Profiles from Application Server has happened.
7.Check sufficient numbers of background work processes are defined for batch mass activity.
8.Change Parameter for default client
9.Check Client modifiable status according to system role in SCC4
10.Logical system creation & Assignment
11.Enable the Archive Log
12.Transport Management System has been configured. Just a check that all clients in the sys appear in stms
13.Check if all Standard jobs are scheduled as per Standard SAP House keeping Job
14.SSO Parameters 'login/accept_sso2_ticket=1' and 'login/create_sso2_ticket=2'
15.Agreed Kernel Patch Level Maintained
16.Execute SGEN after System Copy
17.Check if SAPOSS RFC is working properly
18.SAPNet should be configured and accessible to download sap notes from the marketplace. Just check that OSS1 communicates with SAP Service marketplace, ie that when you click Logon to SAPNet, a list of groups appears
19.Maintain trusted RFC in the Tcode BD97 and SMT1. Table is TBLSYSDEST
Email,SMTP configuration SCOT
20.Maintain Runtime Environment for automatic workflow customizing (SWU3)
21.Check if system backup after the installation
Thanks

My enquiry was pertaining to post processing of BI Java. We ran the template installer for BI Java to connect to BI ABAP and as part of that instead of creating a system object in BI Java such as SIDCLNT100 the template installer created a system object literally as MNDTCLNT100. I was enquiring if there was a missing pre-requisite that led to this as i cant find anything in the guide and notes from Market place.
Regards
Kalyan
