Problem in planned database backup

Dear All.

There is a schedule set for online backup on each day, but from last few days system is not taking that backup.
When i try to open DB13 (switch to SAPGUI) it returns to main menu, and when i try to open DB12, it does not open at all.  Plz help

Database is Sybase

OS is Suse linux

And what is the main menu you see ?

Also supply the SAP release.

1. Could you check the SM21 log any error?

2. SAPGUI version & patch level? if possible update the latest patch and than try again

What is your kernel and what changes have you made to your system in last few days ?

Hi,

Are you using latest SAP GUI version ? Also kindly confirm are you getting any dumps in system and if possible try to share system logs via SM21.

Second have you tried to take backup from the OS level.If yes then are you getting any issues.Please share .
