NWBC SSO SNC

Hi,

We have SAPGUI SSO working with SNC. With SNC in SAPGUI, we have deactivated the password for the users and users can directly get into the system without asking for their credentials.

I am now trying to setup NWBC however after system selection in NWBC, I get a user authentication page. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Pankaj

Yes, you are missing something. In order to configure SSO in NWBC for Desktop further steps are required. The easiest way is to license SAP Single Sign-On, install and configure Secure Login Client and off you go. See for details.

Hi Samuli,

Thanks for your reply, we are not intending to have NW SSO yet however we have siteminder that can help with SAML 2 authentications. Is it possible to have SSO for ABAP systems using SAML 2?

Thanks

Yes but SAML won't work together with NWBC for Desktop. You might get it to work but it isn't supported by SAP.

We actually successfully used SAML2 for NWBC for desktop (we used PingFederate as the provider vs SAP's NW SSO). The multitude of scenario really varies between implementation, but I think the following a good feel on how it could proceed. Do note that you still has to work with your administrator for the SSO system
