Screen Personas 200 SP02 HTML issue

Hello guys,

I'm trying to configure Screen Personas HTML in one of our systems. When I'm starting the webgui, I can see the Personas button. After clicking and selecting a flavour Personas doesn't show the context menu for hiding buttons and texts. Is it because of the system requirements?

We have SAP_BASIS 731 SP 08 and Kernel 721 PL 217. I'm facing two different requirements for Screen Personas HTML:

1) Note  1776739 says: SAP BASIS 731 SP03, Kernel 721 Patch-Level 201

2) The application Help says: SAP BASIS 740 SP03 is required to run the HTML version.

What are the correct requirements? I also considered it as a authority issue, but I have SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW rights on the system.

Does anyone have an idea of what's the problem here?

Thanks in advance,

Hans.

According to all documentation I read so far, the HTML Personas product requires Kernel version 7.40 or above.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, authorization-wise having SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW may not be enough since those don't contain the /PERS/* authorizations the HTML version uses... but I'm not certain about this

The current HTML Personas product is quite restricted in features, so unless you must use it right now, it's probably better to wait for the next Personas release.

Hi Tamas,

thanks for your reply. I know that the HTML version is quite restricted comparing to the Silverlight version. But the problem with the Silverlight version is that you need to take care that Silverlight is installed on every client. Currently we're using the webgui and it would be nice if we can still use with Personas. For testing if the HTML version is matching our needs I would like to get it running first.

After checking SAP_ALL I found the /PERS/ authority objects in it. So that should not be the cause of my problem. I will now check the posibility of updating the kernel.

Kind regards,

Hans.

The Personas start page automatically takes care of installing the Silverlight client if it isn't already. You don't need to do anything special to make that happen. If Silverlight isn't installed, the user will be prompted to install it before Personas starts the first time.

I echo Tamas' comment that you'll find the HTML Personas 2 very restrictive. The two major things missing are scripting - there is no scripting at all - and tab merging. Beyond that, the functionality for modifying screen layouts is not as comprehensive as the Silverlight version.
