Link text not being transported from LPD_cust

Hello,

I have created a custom ESS role as ZCSUTOMESS in the lpd_cust, there is a requirement to add a link on the homepage under ESS->benefits, I did as well, it works fine , but when the related TR is being transported from DEV to QA..verything moves except the link text of the custom new application created under ESS->benefits in the lpd_cust.

I copied the table manually to the tr as per the thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/3283955..there are few threads suggesting to implement few sap notes, but all those are related to that none of the std link text being transportee....in my case the new custom application text is not ebeing transported rest all are working fine.

Please suggest or give your valuable inputs.

When you do transport , is it created two Transport request, one Workbench and one Customized  ?

Hello Shankar ,

Please find the pic of the tr created, i found out there is no general text node in this tr...why i dont knw..if this the main reason of not link text being transported.

-> Open the launch pad ZCSUTOMESS

-> Click on Launchpad menu and click on TextKey

-> It will show information message "All texts start with: LP*...."  just Click on continue.

-> Click on Launchpad menu and Click on Transport

-> Now it should save text elements also in TR.

A new customised request has been made with same table contetnt as it was in workbench, shloud i transport this now? or do we have to do something else as well?

yes, It should create 2 TR's one is Workbench and one Customized. Earlier you have only workbench TR.

Now you transport this customized TR also.

yes shankar there are 2...so i'll transport Workbench and customised both the trs.....i am assuming there are no particular sequence in ttrasnporting?

move workbench first and then customized TR. it should solve your issue.

which language is setted for your system by default?

from TR you check that general text document name and convert that in to EN language and do transport it.

Follow below steps to convert in to EN.

-> Run t-code SE63

-> Choose Translation -> ABAP Objects -> LongTexts (Documentation).

-> In displayed window navigate to TX   General Texts node (click on Find and search for TX)

-> Double click on this TX   General Texts

-> Specify the general text document name and convert it to EN language.

Hello ShanKar,

I searched the sdn and foud out that this is very common behaviour and a bug from SAP, and they have suggested few of the notes to fix this issue

1. 1. (1786881/1768132/1685022/1714746/1702081)

should we appply these? or are yuo sure the above solution will fix this issue as there have been many trasnports happened till now and nothing has solved the issue.

the way I explained will convert the text to EN if it's language conversion issue.

Place the screen shot of that launch pad from qas system.

After doing transport still the applications texts are empty then implement the oss note
