Remote connection via http connection-URL access

Former Member

Hello all,

I would like to connect to the customer Business object system from our solution manager. The customer has configured http connection and has opened the connection in marketplace and has maintained http connection-URL access. The URL has also been maintained.

I have added the corresponding entry also in my hosts file. But i am not able to access the customer URL.

Anyone please tell me how to do remote connection for the connection type "http connection - URL access".

Thanks,

Aishwarya.

If you are getting an error please do post it. Some possible causes are listed below:

Problem connecting to URL with hostname i.e http://servername/BOE/CMC -  This can be caused if the host entry is not on the SAProuter host of the customer side.

A valid entry is not in the saprouttab file of the customer SAProuter.

The customer SAProuter has not been re-initialized since the additional saprouttab entry was added.

Hi Tim,

I am getting "The page cant be displayed" error while trying the BO system's URL in my browser.

Please tell me which of the below methods i can use:

1. By directly connecting to the BO system URL from the browser (is it possible?)

2. By using VPN connection

3. By installing diagnostic agent in solution manager

4. By following the steps in this link:

Hi Tim,

Also, please suggest if you have any other method apart from those mentioned above.

The HTTP connection should be fine for what you want to do as long as long as all you need to access is in the CMC or LaunchPad of BI. The error doesn't help so much. Can you confirm you do have a valid SAProuter connection to the customers SAProuter? If so, can you confirm that the proper host entry is in the customer SAProuter?

if the above are true confirm weather an IP or hostname was used in the saprouttab file. If it was hostname then ensure that host can resolve that name. If not, change it to IP and then change the url you are using to IP as well.
