Former Member

Good Day to All,

I have a couple of chart in a Report. I'm a little confused how to correct a order how the data is represented in a legend.

In some of the charts the legend is correct

2012

2013

2014

but on some charts the legend is incorrect

2013

2014

2012

another example is

on some charts  the legend is correct

Qtr 1

Qtr 2

Qtr 3

Qtr 4

on other charts the legend is incorrect

Qtr 3

Qtr 4

Qtr 1

Qtr 2

Is there a property where I can control the order of the legend.

Crystal Reports XI   11.5.0.313

Regards,

David Martinez

Hi David,

The order of the legend depends on the how the x-axis of the chart is sorted.

Change the sort order of the 'On Change of' field of the chart and the legend should also sort accordingly.

And, if I remember correctly, the first value is at the bottom of the list, not the top like you might expect it to be.

Good Abhilash,

Thanks again you always come through. Who ever created these charts did them as a group template so if I change the sort it may correct the one but upset another. Is there a way to change one chart a time without changing the group template? When I click chart expert there is a option. Applied to group template or Applied to this instance. If I choose applied to this instance the Data tab is not present, therefore I can't change the sort order. Any thought suggestions?

Unfortunately, you can't sort in one direction for one group and in another for the next group.

Do you have a screenshot of how the charts sort the legend?

After further investigating it's the same Chart just for a different company info.

I had to remove your e-mail address from the post per SCN's rules, David.

Please send the report to my e-mail or attach it here with saved data. To attach the report here, change its extension from .rpt to .txt and click the 'use advanced editor' link in the report box.
