Outlook/Calendar integration using Ipad only

Former Member

Hi,

I know there there is the client based outlook plugin which can be used to synchronize appointments and tasks between CRM and Outlook. I have, however, a scenario where a number of field sales people only use their ipad. They do not have a PC at all and consequently no MS Outlook where the plugin can be installed.

Is there any way at all to ensure that the appointments made in the C4C Ipad app are synchronized to the Ipad/Outlook calendar in this scenario where users only have an Ipad?

We are using C4C against SAP ERP - so no SAP CRM on premise in between. So leveraging the server based groupware integration with SAP CRM on premise is not an option.

Anders

Hi Anders,

Without PCs with the Outlook add-in installed, there is no way to get appointments created in C4C iPad app to sync with native iPad calendar.

If they do have PCs with the Outlook add-in installed, and use Exchange server to access via iPad, then yes, appointments created in app will show up on the native calendar.

I just checked with the product manager and this is on the roadmap.

Hi Angela,

Is there any target date for this feature? I know you cannot commit to dates for obvious reasons but it would be good if you could share the target the product manager has in mind.

Thanks,

JB.

Hi, theres a newly launched MS Office app for iPads. I believe with this u can access outlook in iPads too.

Would the outlook app work in sync with iPad app?

Hi Rahul,

The new Office app supports Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The sync with iPad needs to be part of the C4C app and nothing to do with Outlook or Microsoft.

This is part of the roadmap, but no definite  timeline  has been identified.

Is there an update for this request, specifically a timeline?

Thanks,

Hi,

The input I got from SAP C4C product management was that this is supported only via a partner solution (Riva CRM). Riva CRM, however, requires that you buy separate license for that product.

Hi Angela,

I am wondering if this is now definitely off the SAP road map seeing that Riva CRM is providing the solution?

Kind regards,

Karen
