integrating EP with microsoft ADS

Hi,

I am trying to set up microsoft ADS as my data source . Through System Administration->system configuration -> um configuration i can set up ADS as data source . I just want to know whate other steps i shoul follow for setting up the server . should i get any license from microsoft or its an open source, please help me out in this .
