shipping for service item

can I do shipping for a service item ?

what I need is : we will create service items and we need to create delivery & shipment for this service items to follow it

I know I can use item category Dien ( service with delivery )

but what about shipping ? is it possible ?

Why do you want to create a shipment document for service material?

Not the best solution, but delivery can be created for service material. It would be like a dummy delivery with actually no use.

please convey why business wanted these documents for service material?

The learning here is do not say it is not possible before doing rigorous investigation/searching etc.

Sorry on this.I mistakenly posted without further testing and asking his requirement.

I have tried to simulate same scenario in my sand box and getting error as no delivery items found in order.

Can you share settings that how to create delivery with service item?

Please share settings ( copying control b/w sales doc type to delivery doc.type as well as item category and schedule line category )  that how you have created delivery with service item.It could be highly helpful to all.

Hi Naren,

As you know, the schedule line category controls if delivery can be created (Relevant for delivery, in VOV6). Further keep movement type as blank. Also Availability check functionality can be deactivated - both in schedule line category, material master and delivery item category.

Then with copy control in place, the flow will be same as that of item where delivery takes place. As I commented before, there is no use of delivery for service item and it is not a good solution. It will be a dummy delivery which is unnecessary.

Dear TW

Our company A has its materials and in the same time we are agent for Company B and we need to sell this materials without having stock because we just create sales orders and send our cars to ship the quantity from Company B to ship it for customers

in the end we got commission for that

so we take orders from customers for company A & B items in one sales order and one delivery and ship all items in one shipment

for that we need delivery to put service items in shipment

so our solution was to make items for company B as a service items to be without stock and we can follow sales quantity and prices only

Now,I am able to create delivery and billing document.

Please see the below item category settings.Is it ok ?

Note:In standard SAP,TAD is having delivery related billing but if you see in 0VLP ( zervlp) there is no TAD item category.

I just create material with material type : service and choose item category : DIEN

and checked this in customizing :

spro - img - logistics execution - transportation - shipments - maintain transportation relevance

to check relevance for delivery type & delivery items type & route

so status in delivery will be open for transprot planning

I have checked IDES, it had different settings that given in your screenshot.

For TAD, billing relevance = B and Item Relevant for Dlv = blank

The schedule line category assigned to TAD in VOV5 is CD and in this all fields are deactivated.

Thus because billing relevance = B order related, therefore in 0VLP (delivery item categories) you can not see item category TAD and it is correct.

IMPORTANT: As you know, we should not change any configuration in standard objects. Probably some one has in your IDES system.

Members are experimenting as it is a training system / sandbox.

Yes ,you are right that standard settings should change.If we want to simulate any scenario then copy the standard settings to Z and have to run the scenarios.
