Search doesnot return result

I successfully created a filesystem repository, created an index and assigned the datasource to it. In all the monitors(index, cm,etc), the status is green. But when I search for a keyword, nothing is ever returned. I have tried re-indexing and am sure that the index is active.

Hi Raj,

You can go to:

System Administration->Monitoring->KM->TREX Monitor->Display Queves

There you can see status of your documents.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the Display Queues

and I am seeing the below. How can I determine if the index ran successfully or failed?

Index ID Queue Status Time Stamp Delayed To Be Preprocessed Preprocessing Preparation Failed To Be Transmitted Transmitting Transmission Failed To Be Synchronized Synchronizing Synchronization Failed OK

Hi Raj,

There you should have your documents.

You can analyze the application log.

System Administration->System Configuration->KM->Index Administration

In order to narrow down your problem, if you create an new index, whose datasource is document folder, does it work ?

I deleted the index and created another and set that index to run a few minutes ago. The index monitor continues to show status as pending. It looks like the index did not run at all.

Raj,

Internet Guest User (IUSR) must have permission on trex folder.

If you don't do that, TREX monitor is green but not index.

It looks like I may have uninstalled Python from the DEV machine where I am currently testing this. I am only able to get Python 2.4 version from their website. Where can I get version 2.1 of Activestate Python?

Patricio, I checked the TREX folder and the internet guest user had read permissions on them.

Raj,

I don't agree with you.

Here, this user has read/write permission (TREX Folder), and in the Internet Information Server (IIS) virtual directory has script source access, read and write.

If you change, don't forget to restart IIS Service and TREX.

Patricio,

The user had indeed, read and write permission on the Trex folder. I re-installed Python 2.1 from the original Portal DVD and afterreconfiguring the name server,I have been able to get the search to work somewhat.

Now I have run into another problem which I will opening up another post.
