Passing Multiple parameter values

Hie Guys,

I am trying to pass multiple values in a Document Link to a detail Webi report. I have a master report that has Employee ID as one of the columns. I need to pass multiple IDs to a detail report. Could anyone please help me achieve this in a Document Link? Thanks

    1. On master webi report define a report level multi value prompt using 'Inlist' operator on 'Employee ID' dimension and run the report by selecting the desired 'Employee ID's that you would like pass to the detail report.

    2. Once the report got executed, define a report level variable or use report level function to capture multiple values selected in the prompt using function UserResponse()

    =UserResponse([Query_Name]; PromptName)

    3. Define a Open document URL as below

    ../BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=detail_document_CUID &lsMPromptName=UserResponse([Query_Name]; PromptName)

    4. Make sure the target detail report has multivalue prompt defined

You need not have a prompt in Master report, but you do need a prompt in the Detail report.

Where do you get the list of Employee IDs that you want to pass to Detail report? You can have a variable created in the Master report that captures the employee ids and pass that in the code -> &lsMEmployeeID = [Employee ID]

Here [Employee ID] is the variable that will contain the employee list and EmployeeID would be the name of the prompt in Detail report.

Hi Jeewan, Bala is correct. But is not neccesary to use the user response, because you can create variables in the main webi report in order to call it inside the link.

    Hi,

open your webi in the launchpad, go to report elements > linking > document link, select child document and map your parent objects with the child document prompts.
