We're having an issue with users erroneously checking the QN complete flag instead of highlighting their task rows and checking those for being complete. Is there a way to configure the QN screen to disable the QN complete flag icon at the top of the screen but allow the menu function or Shift+F9 to still work?
Thanks all for approaches provided. It's true this is a two year old thread, but as it turns out we're in the initial stages of a re-launch of it as QN / Change Control / CAPA processes. We expect an even wider audience than in 2014. So, your efforts may come in handy.
By the way, in our early days we gave people the option of IQS21. It probably wasn't configured right since we'd have users forget to select a notification type. Then the issue would get lost undetected.
In our new, new system.. We are using user status for our CAPA, Change Control and QN (non-conforming event NCE) documentation. Only a week into the launch. From your examples, we might be able to leverage even more out of User Status functionality.
Thanks again.
Susan
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Also consider using a simplified screen entry for creation of notifications vs the extended screens for notification.
Only give general users access to the simplified screens via IQS21.
Then give those people that work on them and review them access to QM01/QM02.
But the user status functionality is also a good solution and you may need that as well with my suggestion here.

Hi Susan,
You can use screen variant to hide complete button.
Please check below link, for creating the screen variant.

Hi Amarnath,
Please note that though it's really encouraging to have your thoughts, but as you can see that this was quite an old thread, so I think it would not be that useful to the requester. You can always put a new thread or DOC and add your observations which could solve such an issue in future. Hope you understand. All the best.
Thanks,
Arijit
You can make use of "User Status" option in QM notification.
TANA - No Tasks Assigned (Some appropriate text for user status as per your convenience)
QNWT - No Tasks for this Notification (Some appropriate text for user status as per your convenience)
In 1st screen shot, Authorization key should be assigned. Only Authorized People (Supervisor / Chief Chemist / Manager) can set the 2nd user status as a approval. Before that, other End users should not be able to close the notification without getting approval from superior.
One disadvantage, even tasks are assigned to notification, setting 2nd status (Approval) is manual only (as there is no business transaction).
If you have some fixed task for some notifications, please try below exit to update the tasks.
QQMA0025 PM/SM: Default values when adding a notification
If you want to just provide some warning message / error message while saving notification, you can use below exit.

Unless tasks are completed, Quality notification can't be completed.
Please try clicking Quality notification completion flag without closing tasks.

Our configuration doesn't automatically create tasks. Tasks are created later in the process. One scenario is a user creates a QN and closes it immediately. We can put it back into process. At worst, we may not pay attention to it and a problem exists without anyone actively investigating or addressing. Mostly, this is seeking a way to not make this as easy to happen.
