Cost estimate without quantity structure

Former Member

Hi All,

In cost estimate without quantity structure (KKPAN) in the input screen I am giving material code, plant and costing variant and inside the transaction I am giving item category as M, resource as material, plant, quantity, unit of measure and I am changing the material price as per the user requirement and trying to save. But system is deriving the standard price in the material master and overwriting the manually updated price.

The system is showing the message” No manual changes to price or price unit of items

with structure allowed”.

  1. Is it the standard practice to change the price in KKPAN?
  2. If we want to update the user desired price for the material in KKPAN, what will be the way?

Regards,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

This is standard behaviour and it is not possible to change the price of a costing item for which a valuation with structure is carried out.

Kindly check.

Hi Ravi,

I think I know the reason for such system's response.

Generally you can manually change price of a component used in KKPAN.

But only as long as there is no cost estimate created for the component (in other words if the component was not costed yet). Looks like in your case the component used in KKPAN was costed and has valid cost estimate in this case value from cost estimate is taken and can't be changed.

If that's the case you can try to tick the no Cost component split indicator in the item in KKPAN, that way I think the system will allow you to change the price manually.

The system uses a valuation variant where you can define which price to use.

In any case you cannot update the price manually, but you define a price that you input in planned price 1 in the material master for example and use it in your valuation variant. this way a "manual" price could be used.

Hi Ravi,

As I know, if you select category M, material price will pick from material master and its standard. If you want to enter the values manually, can use item category "V" where it will allow to enter the price manually.

Usually, item category V is used when we don't have proper material master structure in SAP system.
