Depreciation areas not updating with depreciation

Hello Experts,

Asset has been capitalized in 2013. since then depreciation has not been posted for dep.area-25 & 30(tax dep.areas) but figures were showing in planned depreciation areas.  For these areas, Zero(Area doesnot post) have been set and checkbox for real dep.area activated.

Please share your thoughts on what would be the cause for not posting depreciation.

Hi Jyothi,

Please refer the note 1572318- Meaning of field "Posting in G/L" in transaction OADB.

This will clear your doubt on the usage of various digits in "Posting in G/L "transaction.

GLs haven't maintained for these areas including dep.area-32 but postings happend for 32.

HI,

If indicator is set to zero, then dep area doesn't post to ledger.

Like Book depreciation needs to be posted to ledger, hence it is set as 01, and tax depreciation is required only for Income Tax reporting purpose, hence set to 0.

Same parameters have been maintained for area-32 as well and its posting depreciation correctly.

Hi Jyothi,

Can you check whether you have maintained GLs for the 2 depreciation areas.

Even though posting will not happen, we will give GLs in AO90

Please validate

Dear Jyothi,

Depreciation posts in one Area only, others are only displayed.

Means you can only view.  What is your concern, you are not able to see the depreciation figures in AW01N or any standard reports when you select 25 & 30 areas ?
