Can I set schedule for backing up the universes and the reports in BusinessObjects?

Hi everyone,

I want to have a snapshot of any BI reports in the specific folder everyday. Can I set schedule for backing up the folders, universes and BI reports in BusinessObjects?

I've looked through the promotion management in CMC, but I couldn't find any options.

Hi,

You can create a Promotion Management Job and include the universe, report etc. The job can be scheduled recursively and it can create a LCM BIAR file to a file location.

The frequency of the job can be set once you click on Promote button. The destination should be "Output to BIAR file"

Avoid creating a single job for large number of objects as it has limitations. As a Best Practice, use this BIAR file as a snapshot and not as disaster recovery option. In other words, this should not be the only backup you depend on. For a major restore, you still need the CMS and Filestore backup.
