Dear folks!
My Test system is located on server with low perfomance. I have a task for only 2 days to copy the data from the PRD in QAS. Database size of PRD system about 1 TB.
Tell me please, is there any methods as possible to accelerate the process of copying?
Hello
Depending on your disk subsystem performance it could be possible.
A 1Tb source DB does not mean 1 Tb of data to copy...
There are basic options to speed up the copy
1) at first delete target client
2) try to exclude as much table as possible
3) set biggest table to start first
4) define the highest possible parallelism (increase dia wp on target, increase RFC quotas...)
Depending on the DB you are using there might be some extra options available (like deactivating index on biggest tables and re-create them after the copy).

Hello
You will not be able to complete a client copy from PRD to QUA within two days if the size of the database is 1 TB.
You will need to consider the database backup and restore option.

As there is no indication as to what the copy profile you want to use, I would consider that you need the complete data as you also mentioned 1 TB of database size for the production system.
If you think you will be able to copy the production data to the test system within 2 days then good luck. I am not wrong. I just gave you my experience. You should then consider raising threads with more details if you expect better replies.
Good Luck

Hi Albert,
Copy process will depend what kind of data you want to copy from PRD to QAS.
If you need to have all the data from PRD to QAS then best method is to perform homogenous system copy using backup restore method.
Steps here would be
1) Take full offline or online backup of PRD
2) Restore the same on QAS
3) in case of online backup of PRD , restore logs as well and then recover the database
4) perform post copy activities
For 1 TB database size it can be easily complete in 2 days time.
Other copy options
1) Client export/import using relevant profiles.
Here time taken would be more as you test system is on a low end server.
2) Use of TDMS tool to perform selective data copy
TDMS license is required to be procured.
Hope this helps.
