LSMW Material Master - Direct Input

Hi All,

I have a requirement to upload Material master and Classification data using LSMW - direct input approach..

I have created one LSMW to upload material master and anther LSMW to upload material classification and they are working fine independently.

In my case some materials have classification data in master data load files and we should able to attach material class type (KLART) and material class ((CLASS) in master data load itself.

Material master data load has a target structure - field, BMM00-XEIC1 'Indicator: take Classification view into account'. I have set this value as 'X' to consider Classification view into account along with master data load. But I couldn't find the fields which are relevant to material class type and class (KLART and CLASS).

Having a possibility to set the flag - 'Take Classification view into account' but no relevant fields of the classification view in target structure making no sense to me.

Can some help me if it is possible to add Class & Class type in material master data load? (of-course, I am sure that Characteristics values have to be loaded in a separate LSMW)

There is no way to load classification with RMDATIND, this has to be done in a extra step and is explained in 545626 - FAQ: Data transfer problems , too.

Nevertheless an interesting question why this BMM00-XEIC1 exists at all.

The history shows that this field came in 1994 with R2.1

And currently it is only used to generate the C in the maintenance status field VPSTA

I am not a 100% certain, but as we can read in the SAP note 545626 the classification is just an embedded functionality.

Classification has as well its own maintenance transactions, so I think loading of classification may not update the MARA-VPSTA field - contrary to the online transaction MM01 - hence you have to do this update already in RMDATIND.
