Std question of SAP SD for KT

Hi Gurus,

I have to prepare a questionnaire of SAP SD.

Generally first we should know the business first and then we have to ask the question based on the processes.

Here I have to prepare the questionnaire first, So what are the question I can ask to business. Please help

It is very tough to list out here, unless we know the nature of business.  Based on your past experience only, you need to list out. 

May be you can add couple of SD related questions as under:-

  • How many types of sales being followed like Domestic OE, Retail, Exports, Scrap etc.?
  • If Domestic OE means, are the OEMs give JIT schedule?  If not, currently, how the client are catering to OEMs
  • Are they having any Group Companies?  If so, are they also going to implement SAP?
  • What are the statutory regulations (Excise / Tax) client are following? 
  • With how many plants they are operating and what are the countries they have plants?
  • Whether they want Batch Management functionality?
  • Do they want credit control functionality?  How currently, it is being monitored?
  • What are the SD reports they currently have

Like this, we keep on adding but atleast, you should know in which area, they operate their business based on which, you can add more questions.

you can list down Sales Process and so that client can select the appropriate one

Mayrl,

From your post, it looks like the very beginning of "requirement gathering". At this stage, the questionnaire should have broad, with open questions. Subsequent questionnaires, meetings with go in to more detail - step by step.

1. What is the business? manufacturing goods, service, trading etc.

2. In what countries is this business?

3. What are the main business processes?

You can look to group these processes in terms of Sales to customers, Non-sales processes

4. What products do they sell?

Not much detail - your aim is to get the important groups of material

Are these expensive or inexpensive?

5. Who and how many customers?

In summary, for this interaction with the client, your objective is to get basic idea about 3 things -

- Business processes (that later will manifest in to process design - sales doc types etc. etc.)

- Master data (material and customer master data)

- Basic functions (output, text, credit, partner, availability check, TOR etc. etc.)
