Current and Non Current

Hello Experts,

I am quite new in BPC and having some doubts relating to Current and Non current classifications in Balance Sheet while doing Consolidation.

We have one Operational GL of Long term loan and based on the due dates we need to bifurcate that GL into current and non current portion in BPC for reporting purposes. As there is no due date concept in ECC; the whole amount comes under one GL only.

Is there is any way to bifurcate a particular GL into Current and Non current based on due dates in BPC 10.0 nw?

Regards,

Rahul

    HI Rahul

ECC has some standard reports which splits the account balance into categories such as less than 6 mth , more than 1 year etc. You could leverage on these reports while extracting the data and place the amount into different BPC GLs.

If these reports can not be used , use a line item extractor that will have information such as due date , clearing date etc and using defined logic ,do the segregation during extraction.

In BPC it can be dealt with either by using different GL or different flow. Whatever methodology you follow , The extractor would be the best place to fill up the segregator filed (account and/or flow).

If there is no concept of due date in ECC, where is the due date maintained? In BPC? Is that a property in GLAccount dimension?

    • Hi Vadim, Lets say, One long term loan account have balance of usd 100m and it need to be paid in 10 installments. So in every installment usd 10m will get debited in the loan account. As per IFRS,a liability need to be defined as current if 1. It expects to settle the liability in its normal operating cycle; 2. It holds the liability primarily for the purpose of trading; 3. The liability is due to be settled within twelve months after the reporting period So in the current financial year, payable of usd 10m will be shown as current and balance usd 90m will be shown as non current. If I have to look at the balance of the loan account in SAP, it will show me usd 100m instead of showing me which amount is current and which amount is non current. So as of now, these types of bifurcation is done in excel only as the finance team is not able to get the proper details in SAP. Hope you understood. Regards, rahul
