Bpc on Hana (Delete data )

Dear Experts,

we work on Bpc Nw powered by hana 10.0 SP13.

When i clear data in the cube , i have a strange behavior:

- in the Bw cube , we don't see data

- in the report we retrieve some data

In which table are this data and how can delete them?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Valentina,

How do you lookup data in the cube? In HANA data is stored in same tables as in other databases, just for Model it's only in F table, no E table.

How did you clear the data? If it's DM Package clear then you need to run Light Optimization and zero elimination to get rid of those records.

    Hi Gersh,

to clear data we used the Delete Data function of Infocube in the Data Warehousing Workbench.

Then we have run Light Optimization and zero elimination, but we can still see data in the report.

I don't know if this is important, but at the beginning we used the new BPC on HANA function "Disaggregate" to save data.

Is it possible that these data are saved directly on HANA?

Thank you very much for any suggestion.

    Regards.

    Valentina

    • Hi Valentina,

If you ran Delete Data in BW then you don't need LO or 0 elimination.

Can you check if any records will be shown in Manage -> Contents -> Fact table of the cube? It will show the table name. You can check if SE16 shows anything for that table. You can also check if that table is empty on HANA.

Disaggregate write data back to same table. Do you have have ENABLE_NATIVE_HANA_MODEL in SPRO for that Model?

Can you ask your Basis if SMART_MERGE is set to AUTO in HANA?

      Regards,

      Gersh
