DashBoard Design product information

Currently have CRS, but now looking to do some dash boarding....

Dashboard Design from what I read seems to just be Xcelsius re-badged (ie based on Excel spreadsheets), is this the case as we want to access live (or very nearly live) data from databases? what is required over and above the product to do this?

Licensing: I assume named users are required for development of dashboards, but the general populace what licensing is there for viewers? can we cause them to logon so dashboards can be customised for an individual or groups of individuals?

Also have the desire to "plot" data on floor plans of buildings, eg as you might colour the postcodes of a state based on say census data, want to be able to highlight rooms of a building based on data about that room - what would be required to do this ??

thanks in advance for your assistance

Check here : http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70bd6328-4128-2d10-7882-d7b95418dbaa?QuickLink=index&… to select the product you need in your landscape.

Licensing: No of license depends on the no of client systems where the product will be installed. No of users viewing the dashboard has no impact on no of license to be purchased. To view the dashboards, the user should have viewer license (different than dashboards designer license). Still, it is better to discuss this with your SAP account manager.

The third question is not so clear. But if I got it correct, you have an image showing floor plans and you want to color different parts of it based on data. In this case, you can use semi-transparent image components with dynamic visibility to change colors based on data.
