Sub-report field too large for detail section of main report.

I have a sub-report that will be used often, because it passes a numeric value to produce a character product line description. The problem is when embedded into the details section of any main report, it grows and cause a spacing issue between records. I have tried several formatting options and format editor option, can grow, keep together, etc, but nothing seems to work. Any assistance would be  greatly appreciated.

hi Edmund,

most likely you need to go to Edit the subreport and suppress a Report Header or Footer section. when you insert a report as a subreport into another report, additional sections are added automatically.

to see what sections are causing the issue, double click on the subreport while you're in Preview mode of the main report. another scenario is that you've got blank details records coming in. in that case you can use the Suppress Blank Section option for the Details section.

Yes, that was it. I found that out shortly after the post. Here is a new issue, I need to use that same sub-report field in as a row in a cross tab grid as row #2, totals suppressed.

Thoughts?

Thank you in advance for your attention on this matter.
