R3LoadExec Errro when installing IDES 4.6c

Dear Expert,

I was installing the database instance for SAP Ides 4.6c and received error at 69%.

(My IDES software was on 2 DVD)

Kernel CD is mapped to CD rom drive,..During installation it ask for kernel cd location and EXport cd so i gave the following information

F:\46CICES\Kernel (which is my cd rom drive)

E:\DBEXPORT (this is my virtual cds location which has all the SAP data. Under the dbexport

directory I have Data folder, DB folder and cdlabel)

My OS was in C: drive, SAP and Oracle was in 😧 drive and DBExport was on E: drive.

(partitions of the same physical drive)

I load SAP after I have loaded Oracle 8.17 and related patch. I did not do any configuration in

Oracle.

The installation stop at 69%. The Oraclehome81 service cannot start.

Error says it find lable “ORACLE:BASISWPKW:46D SR 1:KERNEL for CD KERNEL in path F:\46CIDES\KERNEL.

Error:

“We tried to find the label ORACLE::RDBMS: for CD RDBMS in path .

But the check was not successful”

Thank you for your reply.

I have 2 dvds. One dvd have Kernel folder, Data 2 folder and Oracle folder. (the label for error ORACLE::RDBMS

was found in the Oracle folder)

The other dvd have dbexport folder. Within dbexport there are Data folder and DB folder and Label.

It seem that "CDSERVERBASE_NT_ORA GetAllAvailableCDNames"cannot find my RDBMS label. I tried copying the RDBMS label to dbexport and to different data folder but could not solve the problem.

May I ask how should I organize the folders for the installation. Presently I have dbexport dvd copied to drive E: and run kernel dvd from dvd rom. (should I copy the data2 folder in kernel dvd to dbexport folder?)

I have the installation guide for sap installtion (but not the ides version) and still I could not figure out my problem. Is the ides installation different?

Hi,

It seems that some installation files couldn't be found by sapinst most possible DB export files.

There should be some data files folders(DATA1, DATA2 etc)in istallation DVDs.These folders should be replaced in DBEXPORT/DATA/...in virtual cd location.

All files in DATA folders should be placed also in DATA folder.

I am not pretty sure but you can try it.

Please reply if it works.
