Hi,

In OPJK you have to activate the capacity availability check for the combination of Plant and Order type.. this you have to do during order creation and order release..and you need to maintain the overall profile...

Thanks

Kumar

Dear Kumar ,

In opjk i have already maintained the capacity availability with a overall profile asSAPMPSG013 and now i changed to sapsfcg001 as proposed by you . But still in production order it is showing the message as assigned overall profile is not suitable. Kindly suggest me what to do.

Hi Vishnu,

Please be informed that Capacity planning functionality in SAP R/3 has got certain limitations..

During order creation or release system will throw only warning message of capacity overload  and even though capacity overload system will allow to create or release the production orders...there is no provision to show the alternate work center in case of overloads...no customization in standard SAP will meet your requirement...

Use standard functionality called capacity leveling, in which over loaded capacity is distributed on to other work centers where still capacity is available or order re scheduling is done to change the dates... This is again manual activity and can be done for planned orders or production orders...

Thanks

Kumar

Hi ,

SAP R/3 MRP is uncontrained Planning. Even if you don't have capacity on required dates, system will overload workcenter scheduling backward/forward without considering existing plan order/production order. When Plan orders are covnverted to Prod order, still the same. Typically there will be queue of more than one order on some of the dates on workcenter & MRP controller/MPS planner have to manually shift one of them using Capacity leveling trasaction.

Control is given to planner because you cannot always follow "First come first served" . Even if workcenter taken by sales order entered first , later customer may be giving bigger business(Qty) hence need to vacate queue. There is no priority field in SAP R/3 for MRP to determine automatically.

Priority field & related scheduling(.(Bear in mind , you also have to shift upstream/downstream operation manually & next level of subassembly production needs to be shifted manually . It will take skill & understanding of product/routing to achieve feasible plan) can be done using SAP SCM-PPDS. It is called finite capacity constrained planning software.

Any amount of development will not yield desired behavior.

Jatin

Well vishnu it doesn't required any configuration , you need to define another routing with second work center on same group and change the required production version at the time of creation of production order ... System won't propose itself ,you should select required workcenter at the time of execution

Hi sultan,

We can use the production version of alternative routing this is fine but how the user will come to know the previously allocated workcenter is over loaded so need to change the alternative w.c.

Kindly suggest me some solution for auto proposal of alternative work center , if customisation is required also its not a problem we will go for a development .
