Approach to build a Workflow for sales order with reminder and escalation

Hi Gurus,

I have a requirement where I need to provide an approval workflow on creation of sales order. I also need to provide the reminder mails (at least 2) and then provide escalation (3 to 4 level) to the supervisors.

Is there any standard solution SAP provides for sales order?

If not, how should I handle reminder and escalation functionality? In my previous project, I achieved the same via putting the escalation in a LOOP UNTIL .

Is there any other way to handle the same? Are process controls also helpful? If so, could any body put some light on how process control will help me in achieving reminder and escalation functionality.

I would like to reuse SAP has provided.

    There is no standards SO approval workflow. Use deadline notifications for the reminders. Two is enough, more just turns into noise.

    A loop is what I would use for escalations, tried and tested and works well.
