Transformation from datasource to DSO inactive in BI

Former Member

Hi Experts,

Some changes has been made  on the Z table-ZACCOUNTCLASS on ECC sie. We have our master data extrctor over this table. after the change datasource is not been replicated in BI, still if i click on the datasource it is showing last changed on of today and transformation over it are inactive and all other datasources using this object also have transformations inactive. Does changes on ECC side impacts the datasouces in BI without replication?Pls suggest.

Thanks and Regards,

Irish

It was replicated already but not activated the data flow objects upwards. In this situation, if you try to extract, you will get TimeStamp error as Yasemin ULUTURK righty said.

Hi,

After the replication will impact on dtp and transformations.

If any one triggered your load today then that will also will have an issue due to source table changes.

So you can replicate your data source into bw side and activate it by using program - RSDS_DATSOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL

Activate transformations also by using program - RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE.

DTP also need to be activate.

Thanks

Hi Irish,

I don't think that the datasource is not replicated in BI side. When a change is made in ECC side, as long as you don't replicate you will see all transformations active. But when you try to load the data, it will give a timestamp error. When you replicate, since the datasource is changed, the transformations become inactive.

Thanks Yasemin for your prompt reply. I hve not replicated the Datasources in BI. But it is showing the datasources in active mode and tranformation over it are inactive. If i double click on datasource, i is howing last change on date of today. even data as also been loaded to PSA but because of inactive transformations, it is no taking the data further. any clue as what could be the reason?

Hi,

Ask you BW team, is they transported any changes on your data flow?

Or done any changes by manual on prod?

Assumed your data flow as Data source-----> Info cube/DSo.

Normally transformation will go inactive when we

1. Data sources was changed/replicated

2. When target was changed

3. When some one modified the transformations and forgot to activate it.

To know the who done those changes, please double click on your transformations,  Menu Goto--> version management.

As of now you can activate your transformations and try to trigger your load and see the logs.

Whether its loading or failed with any source system errors.

Thanks

Hi,

if you do replicate the data source it will effect on the data source, transformation and DTP.

you want check the last changed by use the version management. this option available in BI 7.3

you did replicate activate the manually or program suggested by raman.

Thanks,

Phani.

Hi Irish,

If the datasource is not replicated as you have said, then the data load to PSA would definitely fail. It is for sure that someone has replicated and activated it. When the datasource is replicated all related transformations become inactive. That explains your situation.
