    Hi,

May be the granularity of the ODSs are different. And May be you have filteration in the update rules b/w ODS1 and ODS2. So that you will get low time of query execution on ODS2.

      Hi,

Almost in all cases, the reporting requirement drives the system(DW) Architecture. In your cse, we will not take at all the fields in Level 2, which are not rquired for the reporting on ODS2.

    Hi Balaji,

It is quite a common scenario and often referred to as Level 1 and Level 2 ODS where the granularity of Level 2 ODS is higher. The Level 2 ODS typical would have lesser no. of fields than Level 1 and would contain more summarised data. Also the load from Level 2 to Level 1 would be "delta-enabled". Level 1 may or may not be reporting-enabled.

    Hope this helps.

    Bye

      Hi

      Dinesh

      Thanks for your reply.

and often referred to as Level 1 and Level 2 ODS where the granularity of Level 2 ODS is higher.

In update rules v should use no-update for that field in Level two ODS object which is not used in reporting

      Thanks & Regards

Advantage in reporting means, it purely depends upon your application, in the level one perhaps it could be the satging ODS and your second one could be your content ODS. and you may need to have your reporting done on the second ODS.

    Hi Balaji,

Yes. The fields you dont need would not be assigned (set to no-update)in the update rules.

    Bye
