PO Asking for Release after OA Release

Dear Guys,

I was created a contract, which has been released at all levels.

with reference to the PR against that contract, a new PO has been released.

Even this PO is going for a release again.

How to clear this issue?.

System will always triggered the same release strategy during Contract creation and PO creation (If you are using common fields for PO and contract for release strategy).

As we know, The data and structure for release strategy is stored on same table for contract and PO.

So if you configure the release strategy for PO, then it will also effect in contract (or vice-versa)

But system behaving both release strategy different.

Its the same release strategy triggering in PO, which was triggered in contract.

But Its a standard behavior that system triggering the release strategy for release document for contract.

By the way, what is characteristics and characteristics value you are using in release strategy ?

Hi,

   You have configured release strategy for PO. The release order is nothing but a PO created based on contract. PO will go for release, based on the release characteristics, even though it was created based on contract / PR / other PO's or without reference. Its standard system behavior.

   The contract is a type of outline agreement created based on the agreed terms and conditions for a long period of time. Based on this agreement, you are creating PO (release order). I think the release of this PO  is to be done logically.

Hi AKPT,

As per my understanding with SAP, If OA has been released, any PO created with reference to that OA. It need not to be released.

Coming to this specific case, i have few line items in the OA, in that 1 line item PO going for release, another line item PO not going for release.

This is my case !!

   Please check the release characteristics and compare the two PO's.

   In standard, system will trigger release strategy based on the release characteristics even though its created with respect to contract or not.

As per the above reply from AKPT, there might be certain release characteristics triggering release strategy - one PO going for release and other not.

Please check the release characteristics for both and let us know.

Do you have release strategy configured for PO?

If my understanding is right, you have created a contract and released it. You have created a PR, and with reference to it PO is created, but it is going for release. Isnt it?

Yes, There is a release strategy configured for PO.

Yes, Contract created and releasd. After that PR created, with that PR against Contract PO has been created. Now PO going for release again.
