hi gurus,

i am having a doubt about setup tables and delta init in LO COCKPIT, i even read few threads mostly of Roberto

by them i understood that--(kindly read everything and solve my problem plz)

we can fill setup tables in step by step like

if we data from--jan 2000 to 2005 nov. then if option available at the setup table initializing time we can first fill the setup table with jan 2000 -dec 2000 data and load it first and delete and again fill it with next year till we finish loading all the historical data.

but if we want to load in parallell we have to use infopackge but there is a problem using infopackage as said by ROBERTO in one of his answers- that if we use filters (selections in infopackge) then system wont capture delta for the data other than in selections.

i am i right plz correct me.

so if we really want to use infopackage can we do this---

fill all the data into setup tables (jan 2000 to nov 2005) in one go and then schedule the infopackages with different selections and schedule them in parallel and also schedule an additional infopackage with just delta initialization without data transfer...i think this will remove the hassel with using infopackage in parallel upload of setup data.

hey all experts kindly throw light on this and correct me.

with regards

    Both your assumptions are correct:

    - setup data for a period that you want (This can be done in parallel jobs to speed up the process).

    - load the data (using init-infopackages that run in parallel)

    - Start a infopackage with init-without-data. I recommend that this 'dummy-init' has no selections so it will be good for delta loads without restrictions.

Now if step 1 (the setup) was not complete for all data (i.e. you did a setup for 2000 only) then you can repeat the steps for following years. Just make sure that the last step is a dummy-init without selections.
