Activity lines at kkax/comlwipdoc transactions

Hello SAP Gurus,

When I run kkax transaction, I click at WIP Quantity Document button which takes me to comlwipdoc transaction.

In here, normally I see component quantities and activity quantities which are evaluated as wip.

In my case, I can only see component quantites and there wont be any lines for activity quantities.

For your information, wip activity calculation is totally correct. There is no problem about that.

Only I can't see activity quantities at comlwipdoc transaction, whereas I can see this any other systems.

How could i fix this?

thanks a lot

Hi Sadullah,

Welcome back!

What do you exactly mean by "whereas I can see this any other systems"?

Other system in your landscape (which have the sam config settings) or systems with different config stettings?

I suspect there are to possible reason that you can't see Activity quantities in WIP quantity document;

1. There were no activity posted in a period shown in WIP quantity document.

2. Please check config setting for the plant you analyse:

SPRO -> Controlling -> Product Cost Controlling -> Actual Costing/Material Ledger -> Actual Costing -> Activate Actual Costing: Activate Actual Costing

Most likely Activity Update column (ActAct) has value 1. In that case activity confirmations are not updating ML quantity structure and are not shown in WIP Quantity Document.

You need to change it to 2 "Activity update relevant to price determination" in order to see activities in WIP Quantity Document.

Please analyse your settings and let us know.

Hi Szymon

Thanks a lot again ! As you pointed out, it is 1 Activity update not relevant to price determination. I guess that is why I can't see activity quantities.

But I have another question here. So far, I use this implementation step for these purposes.

If I choose option 1, I have to run con2 transaction before I run ckmlcp mont-end period closure. In this way, all production orders have actual activity values before period end closing.

If I choose option 2, then the difference between actual and standart price for activities are updated in multi-level price determination step in ckmlcp, so I dont have to run con2 before ckmlcp.

All this time I thought that this implementation only serves this purpose. Now you are telling me there is also a quantity part too. Can you explain this part to me a little bit more.

Szymon thanks a lot again. you are doing a great job over here. Thanks.

Hi Sadullah,

Your understanding is correct.

With activity update 2 activities treated by ML pretty much the same way as materials.
Variances between planed and actual prices are allocated during ML closing. That's why CON2
is not required

This setting is especially important for WIP. As you noticed with setting 1 activities are not considered in WIP Quantity Document and are not included in ML WIP revaluation stepl. In this case only components are revalued in ML revaluation step.

With setting 2 activities are inluded in WIP Quantity document and take part in ML WIP revaluation.

I hope it helps.

Hi

While the settting is 1, I performed ML closing and it seemed to me that, it calculated correctly wip amount. This company will have a wip process certainly. Would it be wrong, if I keep this setting as 1. Beside not seeing activity quantities at comlwipdoc, would it cause any problems. Especially at wip calculation.

thanks

Hi,

I understand you calculate WIP at Target Costs (txn. KKAS or KKAO or KKAX) Correct?

Do you revalue WIP at Actual Costs in ML in CKMLCP?

Hi,

I use con2+kkao+co88+ckmlcp

and there is wip revaluation step in ckmlcp, I perform that too.

Hi Sadullah,

Please have a look at below listed SAP Notes. They explain system logic in detail.

Are you calculating WIP at actual costs or at target cost (what's the settlement rule type in your order type: PER or FULL?).

Szymon
