If I reinstall Crystal Reports Server 2008 will I lose my current user data, categories, folders and scheduled reports?

I am getting the following error when logging onto CMC:

Server xxxx:6400 not found or server may be down (FMW 01003) null

I believe that this is being caused by the BOE120MySQL service on my server not running.  When I start the service, it immediately stops and I can not get it to run. Will re-installing Crystal Reports Server fix this?

If I reinstall, will I lose my current user data, categories, folders, history and scheduled report settings and limitations?

Unfortunately, the repair did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions, on what might fix the issue?

I have the original installation disk.

If I repair using this, will it cause problems/conflicts if patches and/or updates have been installed?

You can repair it from Control panel - add remove programs assuming that you are on Windows Environment.

Repair will not affect any patches or updates installed.

This service does not depend on any other system components.

The Server Intelligence Agent depends on the BOE120MySQL service, but it is running.

The service did not start when the firewall and antivirus were disabled.

Ofcourse you wont get them unless a backup of the Db is available.

Look into event viewer logs.

Before you proceed with re-installation check what is causing the MySQL service to stop. Check the dependent services for this and see whether any of them is stopped. Disable firewall and antivirus temporarily and check whether it comes up.

Good Luck!!

Run a repair first.
