ASAP8 roles and responsibilities

Hi there,

Just wondering whether the various roles defined in the ASAP8 methodology (such as Application Consultant, Project Manager, Business Solution Architect etc) and their responsibilities documented somewhere?

Yes indeed. The roles and responsibilities are explained in the accelerators on node 1.2 Project Governance. I hope this helps.

Not quite.

What I am after is a list of roles, their required skills and responsibilities.Something similar to http://www.fmdconsultants.co.uk/p2_roles_and_responsibilities_v01.docx

I'll give you some context to my question. As an example, when I look at the accelerator "Prepare Data Migration Workshop", it says that an application consultant will perform this role. I want to know what skills are required from an application consultant to effectively run the workshop. Similarly, an application consultant is required for the "Store Scenario Level Documentation in SAP Solution Manager" deliverable. I am not sure whether the same application consultant can do the workshop and store documents in solman or whether I need two different people. I guess you can see where I am going with this. Once I get to know the complete list of skills and responsibilities for the various ASAP8 roles, I can go to the market and find the suitable resources.

The accelerators on node 1.2 do not provide me the information I am after.

The information provided in the ASAP roadmap provide very similar level of detail as the materials you linked to. But you are right that ASAP does not go into the level of detail for functionality competency sometimes where it varies by solution.

ASAP will not provide you with the granularity down to solution specific competencies for all the resources.  As these will vary by the type of solution you are implementing. The ASAP methodology is used across wide range of solutions and the solution specific detail is not built in. But the methodology will specify the traits and experience specific roles should have.

SAP Services and other ecosystem partners have systems for describing the solution specific experience requirements for consultants and this is typically built into the resource management systems.

I hope this clarifies.
