local editing of KM - Documents over slow WAN-Network

Hello everyone,

we have an very big problem and i need your help.

We have some excel-files in our KM on a CM-Repository in FSDB-Mode. If we edit locally this documents in germany (over WAN) it works fine.

But if someone want to edit this documents in Asia, the file was corrupt aufter download.

We use the activeX component for local edit.

Two weeks ago it works fine but than it doesn`t work any more.

Hi Christian,

while I will not be able to solve this with you, two questions that may halp those who might be...

1) Was there an update of XLS, Win or EP between status working and status not working?

2) Does this only happen with particular XLS files? If you just simply download (not "edit locally"), edit and then upload again - does it work?
