Restrict auto Batch Code creation Material type wise at MIGO

Dear Gurus ,

My industry is textile industry , we have batch management for material type Fabric and material type accessories ,in that i am planning for materials like threads ( which comes under material type accessories ) which is having multiple colors and sheds , for each shed i am going to create separate batch , so that it can avoid multiple code creation shed wise , here i need restriction that batch should not create automatically for material type accessories so that while good receipt user can select the shed i.e Batch manually , so that batch redundancy should not be there... Please suggest how to restrict.......

in customizing you can only define whether batches are created manually, automatically, both ways, or not created at all for a movement.

But there is no option to make it dependent on a material type.

Hence you have to control it by a user exit

Set Up Customer Exits for External Batch Number Assignment - Batch Management - SAP Library

the same is available for internal number assignment, you can find the page from the menu on the left

As of my knowledge, batch management depends on material master - Purchasing view - Tick option for Batch Management. Its not depend on Material type.

If you tick the batch management in material master, then you have to enter the batch number during MIGO.

If you do not tick the option , then you don't have to enter the batch number during MIGO/Goods receipt.

And also this tick option doesn't depend on material type.

You can't set the field invisible or visible as per material type. You may can go for development, to hide or display the field for particular material type. So that user can't select the tick option for those materials.
