Hi,

It looks like HANA Studio is using a preconfigured port 3xx15 to connect to a DB, but the HANA 2 Express version running in a VM is using 3xx13.

The error message is

Caused by: com.sap.db.jdbc.exceptions.JDBCDriverException: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://192.168.2.110:39015 [Cannot connect to host 192.168.2.110:39015 [Connection refused (Connection refused)], -813.].

Is there a way to change the port?

I am able to connect from a terminal to the DB - so the DB is up and running.

Cheers,

Thomas

PS the tag is wrong but I had to choose one and "HANA Express" is not on the list

Cause HANA Express is set up in MDC mode, port 3xx13 is used to access the SystemDB. If you try to connect to the SystemDB like following it should work. Consider, that the used instance number for HXE 2 is 90, instead of 00 used for HXE 1.

This "kind of" worked for me. I am not able the connection anymore but i cam not able to connect using my hxeadm user (perhaps because there is no way to make it lowercase on the "User Name" text box.

Do i need to add users (other then hxeadm) in my virtual machine and then use those to connect?

Hello Sunil:

Can you clarify your answer please? You say it "kind of" worked but then you say you are "not able the connection anymore but I cannot able to connect using my hxeadm user". That sounds like you cannot connect either way. How can you "kind of" connect. Are you able to connect after changing the instance number?

Also, when you are trying to connect from HANA Studio, I would expect you generally to connect with a database user, such as "system", and not the sidadm operating user, hxeadm.

Regards,

Carl

I come from a SQL Server world so this is not perhaps the right term to use. I was indeed using hxeadm. I connected with SYSTEM though.
