Material variant characteristics for Information Purpose

we need to add some characteristics on the Material Variant for information purpose only. while calling the configurable material in the sales order.

What exactly are you looking for ?You can create any characteristic and add a long text to it. Or you can use long text for classification. There is no characteristic like text characteristic but if you can explain in detail we may be able to help you.

The Case is we are working with material Variant , so when the user chose the configurable material and enter the characteristics it calls the material varainat , what we need is we need on the level of the configurable material to enter some addtional characteristics for information purpose only say we have main characteristics linked to material variant such as grade , Type and we have addtional information characteristics such a lenght which is not linked to any material variant.

Hi Mazen,

You can have additional characteristic like usual characteristic and then exclude for variant matching. That way they wont be use for variant matching and will be separate.

You use report RCU_EXCL_CHARACTERISTICS to exclude characteristic from search.
