hi experts,

can you please help me understand about EPM.  Do we install EPM as a add-in or is it a seperate installation. Can anyone send me the link for installation and administration guide for EPM 7.0?

Hello Joyce

Can you clarify what product you use?

The EPM add-in works with all EPM suite products, but only from certain versions.

Its predecessor (Analzyer) was mostly used with Financial Consolidation (BFC). For BPC on version 7.0, there is no EPM add-in, at that time BPC used its native reporting (e.g. EVDRE() )

As i understand from your reply, EPM add-in is for the end user, and there will also be a EPM server which has the db server and the model server installed .

The client on which EPM add-in is installed will communicate with the EPM server. Am i right?

Do we download EPM from SAP service marketplace or from a microsoft site

Do you have any administration guide for EPM?

Hi Joyce,

Yes, the EPM add-in is a COM add-in into Excel

It will get its data not from an EPM server, but the server hosting the particular application you have installed EPM for.

So, if you use EPM add-in with BPC-NW, the data will come from BW

EPM add-in with BFC, will get data from MS Analysis server etc.
