Reporting Location in SAP HCM

Hi SAP Experts,

We have a requirement to track Reporting location of an employee in Org Management. Kindly advice if there is an option to extract Reporting location for an employee. Does SAP has such field?. What could be the reason for not having Reporting Location in SAP?

At the position level, you could pull values of Personnel Area ( HRP1008 ) to possibly determine the location of the employee.  Each PA has an address stored in T500P that you could tie back to.  Hope this helps!

Would the following logic suffice our needs.

Employee Reports to a Manager in location Y. If Y can be extracted from Personal Area of the Manager. Can we call Y as the reporting Location for the Employee?

This question should be answered by the customer in your project. You cannot expect people on this forum to guess your customers requirements.

People have given some hints based on their best estimates of what a Reporting Location could be.

I would recommend, asking a precise definition of the requirement from your client, and then identifying the relevant SAP fields that holds that information, and going from there.

As Harish indicated, we would need to know what you/the business considers 'location' to be before we can give you plausible suggestions for how to obtain the data for your needs.

Somehow you need to pull from Info type 6 (address data) the reporting location as present location.

Thank you for the quick response. Let me detail it. We have employees who work in location X, but they report to location Y. We need that data of Y. Is there a way we can pull that data?
