Unable to Extend/Adjust Standard EC through Extended field.

Hi Experts

I have reached a situation where I am not able to find any help from books so I turn to community.

I have extended the Accounts screen “accountorgoifeco.oif” using Business Partner XBO where I have added an Extended field Named “Data Locked”.

By using this field “Check Box” I am trying to control the behavior of other fields on the UI. So that once this filed is checked by the Admin User the other fields on the screen can be locked into Read-only mode for the rest of the users.

My Problem is that I can use this function on Accounts & Details section of the UI but I am not sure how I can use this function on the fields which are displayed via an SAP Embedded Component “Main Address”.

If I use the Open button on the Embedded Component it takes me to the Embedded Component itself but I cannot use the “Bound” function through “Adjust Properties”.

Any suggestions and/or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You can't do anything: the EC (Postal Address) model is binded with the superordinate EC (Address).

You cannot change this binding because is standard, so also if you add some fields to the standard BO binded with the Address EC you can't use these fields in the Postal Address BO.

Also the BO binded with the Address EC is not PSM released.

The only solution is trying to hide the Address EC from the Account FS, under certain condition. I don't know if it is possible but you can try to investigate more.

Thanks for your reply. I had worries that might not be possible but thought may be I can get some work around there.

As for hiding the Address EC from the Account FS, Well I am investigating this possibility. Thanks for your Advice.
