Dashboard displays no data when opening it for the first time. After trying the same for 3 -4 times, dashboard displays data properly.
Environment Information:
SAP BO BI platform 4.2 SP2 Patch 6
Clients tools installed at local machine: - SAP Design Studio 1.6 SP3 (16.3.0), JRE 1.8
Could be caching, memory, etc.
Could you turn on profiling as described here: https://blogs.sap.com/2015/06/30/understanding-profiling-and-statistics-in-design-studio/ and see what is going on?

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for answering the question 🙂
I have gone through the link mentioned above. However, I am getting new GUI for Statistics[see image below]. Also, the statistics information mentioned in the block is different than the statistics file I have downloaded for the application.I am also, attaching the reference bi_statistics file. Can you please help me with analyzing the file?
Also, I have gone through this blog post. https://blogs.sap.com/2015/06/29/measuring-the-performance-of-design-studio-application-with-an-exam... . After going through the steps ,below is the information:-
Total Time = 2.57 min
Platform Overhead Time = 0.32 sec
Design Studio Processing Time = 3.503 sec
Remote Time = 15.595 sec
Residual Time = 157.582 sec
Regards,
Ajinkya
I wonder if it is a caching issue; could you try the tips in Dwain's blog here: https://blogs.sap.com/2016/07/26/use-of-bw-cache-in-sap-design-studio/

Hi Tammy,
I have checked the Cache Monitor .I am using 3 BEx queries in total for dashboard which are having 68500 bytes, 2312 bytes, 8197 bytes as folder sizes in cache. However, I am not getting clarity from this blog.
One of the proposed solution by colleague is to increase the XmX value of Adaptive Processing Server (OLAP Service ) in CMC from 2g to 4g. This seems to solve the problem in DEV environment.
However, after I have migrated the dashboard from DEV to PROD using Promotion Management Tool , I am facing the same issue [Dashboard not displaying any data]. Here, I tried to increase XmX value but to no avail.
Regards,
Ajinkya S
That's strange the problem is resolved in DEV but not production; can your admin review any other differences?
In production maybe your BI admin can look at fiddler - see https://blogs.sap.com/2015/06/29/measuring-the-performance-of-design-studio-application-with-an-exam...
