Partner determination procedure for an Ibase

Hi,

I realize that we can assign a Partner Determination Procedure to an IBASE Category. However, I am not able to get an idea, how exactly this determines the Partners for an Ibase while creation.

Could you please help me out with any real time scenario, hopefully I could be able to uderstand with your example.

Hi,

You can maintain partner determination procedure to the ibase category. This partners then can be determined in the order based on the ibase entered in the order. For example, vendor, ship to party can be maintained in the ibase and the same can be determined in the order which is using that ibase.

Thanks for the reply.

However, we are already assigning a Partner Determinatin Procedure to Transaction Type.  In that Partner Determination Procedure, in the access sequence, we can mention to pick the Partners of IBASE.

But, my question is..why we are assigning the Partner Determination Procedure to the IBASE Category, and how this is helping.

Hi Sandeep,

Without maintaining the partner determination procedure to the ibase category you will not be able to maintain any partner details in the Ibase. Hence, this customizing setting is must if you want to maintain the partners against specific partner functions in the Ibase.
