KM notifications sent twice

Notifications from subscribed to KM folders in collaboration rooms are sent twice to each user. Two identical emails are received.

Where would I look to configure this correctly?

Hi Henning,

is it possible that people have subscribed twice for example on this folder structure:

a/b/docs

on folder "a" as well as on folder "b", with subscription settings not only for the folder itself but also for the folders down the hierarchy?

Hope it helps

Even with only one subscription being set up for a folder structure the notifications keep coming twice. I am getting this problem for all subscritions, even when testing as a single user in a freshly generated collaboration room.

Hi,

If you have subscribed to folders, documents, or other items, you receive a notification if items are created, changed, or deleted.

If you have the appropriate service permissions you can subscribe for other users, groups, and roles as well as for yourself.

When you subscribe the system sends notifications to the universal worklist and to the user’s e-mail address.

Try to revise your configuration, you could read this information:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/6e/798e04b33b11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm

This service is used by KM applications and services to create and send notifications to users. It is used, for example, by the subscription service and by the inbox service.

The notificator service uses the publishing pipeline to generate notifications. The XML templates and XSL stylesheets used for this purpose are located in the notifications directory of the /etc repository.

The following parameters pertain to the notificator service.

Channels: Specifies the communication channels.

Default: EMAIL

Select NULL so that users creating a subscription can dictate that notifications be sent only to the universal worklist.

To call up the configuration for the notificator service, choose:

Content Management-Global Services-Notificator Service.

Channels

Channels are communication protocols used for sending information to users. Currently, they are used by the notificator service for sending notifications, and by the Send To function provided in the Details dialog box for sending documents.

You can use the following types of channels:

· E-mail channel: The user receives information by e-mail.

· SMS channel: The user receives information by SMS on his or her GSM mobile telephone.

To configure a channel, choose Content Management-Utilities-Channels.

Channel Originators

Various services send notifications to users using communication channels. The sender names that appear in the message headers of those notifications are called channel originators.

When you configure a service that sends notifications, you specify the channel originators that the service uses

To configure a channel, choose Content Management -Utilities - Channel Originators

Subscription Service

The subscription service enables users to keep track of changes to documents and folders. It informs users about changes to subscribed resources by sending notification e-mails at defined intervals (see Subscriptions).

A variant of the subscription service is used for managing subscriptions in discussions.

Content Management-Repository Services-Subscription Service.
