AS91-Ordinary Dep.start date issue

Hi All,

We are trying to upload assets from the year 1970.During that process am giving capitalisation date ,say 01.01.1970.And the same date should populate automatically in dep.area tab as ordinary depreciation date.But it is blank and forcing to enter manually.Please assist.

Hi Jay,

As suggested earlier, please check Period control settings (AFAMP) of your depreciation key. Accordingly, system updates ANLB-AFABG field (dep start date).

Also, what is the takeover date you are using.

Hi Jay,

Ordinary dep start date will be picked up automatically once you post acquisition.

Ord dep start date is picked up based on 1)Capitalisation date & Posting date 2)Period control settings.

Moreover, capitalisation date will be taken as base if the date is in current fiscal year and posting date is base in case cap date is in previous fiscal years.

After the base date is arrived now it is period control settings will choose start of the period or mid of the period etc

Example

Case A : Cap date-22.04.2014,post date-22.05.2014,period control settings at the start of period

then dep start date is 01.04.2014.

Case B : Cap date-22.04.2010,post date-22.05.2014,period control settings at the start of period

then dep start date is 01.05.2014.

Appreciate your response.But my actual requirement is i want to see the ordinary depreciation start date in dep.area tab in AS91 which is not getting populated.I need capitalisation date to be populated in dep.area tab.When am giving capitalisation date as 31.12.2013,then it is taking as  ordinary dep.start date,issue is arising when it is older that 2013.

Hi Jay,

Go to OAYZ  T code and choose the relevant asset class and see what screen layout is assigned.

Then Go to AO21 T code, choose the assigned screen layout and click Field group rules,choose optional radio button for ordinary depreciation start date field. It will help in populating ord dep start date in Dep areas tab.

What issue occurs when you enter cap date earlier than 31.12.2013?

Hi Jay,

Ordinary depreciation date in the Asset Master is determined by Period control settings in the Depreciation key,

First check the Period control method assigned in the Depreciation key AFAMA and then

go to transaction AFAMP and check the Acquisition column of the period control method.
