Deleting Query ....

Hi BW Gurus,

I have attempts to Attempts to delete old queries in the CCA cube are being met with a "Deletion not possible - query still being used" message. Further interrogation produces a list of workbooks which contain this query, none of which we are able to find in the Bex Browser or on the server.

I have reproduced the steps that were taken by me below. Could you please identify where we are going wrong here.

eproduction Steps:

-

Click on the 'Open' icon in the Bex Analyser toolbar.

Enter the Technical name 'Z_CCA_A6700C' and click on 'Find'. When found click on the 'Change' button. When query displayed click on the 'Delete query' icon in the query toolbar. Message displayed 'Do you really want to delete query "ZZ A6700 Actual & Commitment V Plan for Month & YTD"?'. Click on 'Yes' button. Message now displayed 'Deletion not possible - "ZZ A6700 Actual & Commitment V Plan for Month & YTD" still being used! Do you want further informatin'. Clicking on 'Yes' button produces a list of 'Workbooks' to which the query is still presumably attached. Any attempt to find these workbooks in the Bex Browser or in a directory on the server has met with failure.

How do I go about it ... do I need to delete using RSZDELETE trans code ?

Thanks

Nathan Ranj

    Hi!

The workbooks are visible in bex only when they are assigned to a role. Just search for this workbooks inMetadata repository and copy the technical name of the workbooks. then delete the work books fromt he system.

    with regards

    Hi Nathan,

Once you know the name of Workbooks which are related to query you can go to open Workbook and select your Info provider on which these workbook are based and without opening it you can delete right from there if you are willing to keep those workbook just save it in excel format but it will be just for reference and it will no more dependant on your query.

I think this suppose to resolve your problem
