O.H calculation through Template allocation

Dear Gurus,

Can anyone explain how the "Template Allocation works", my client have a scenario a total cost in the particular cost center "CCC" has been allocated to a material "MMM"  in process order based on the total number of quantity  produced. Like the cost center "CCC" having a total cost of 1000 and process order confirmed 1000 quantity of "MMM" material .while running my template allocation it determines both the total cost of 1000 and materials confirmed quantity 1000 dynamically and allocate the cost of 1 for each quantity in the process order through activity type. suppose if the process order has confirmed only 500 quantity means the template has to allocate 2 for each quantity in the process order.

Is it possible to achieve the above scenario through template allocation, or any other methods available for this.

Dear Vinoth

You can directly use activity type for overhead also as a work around. Define Activity for OHs with activity price indicator 1.

In routing add 1 Qty Ohs for one qty produced. At confirmation of order activity qty for OHs will be equal to the production quantity.

In the month end process calculate activity price for activities (including OHs activity), re-valuate your process orders with actual activity rates.

This way also you can achieve the goal.
